July 18, 2011
On Tuesday, June 7, 2011, Brenda Krause Eheart was highlighted as a “Champion of Change” by the Obama Administration in New Orleans. She participated with administration officials and other champions in a roundtable discussion on best practices to foster community service to effect social change. “Champions of Change” is part of President Obama’s Winning the Future initiative (www.whitehouse.gov/champions).
October 8, 2010
On October 6, 2010, Generations of Hope received the Congressional Angels in Adoption Award, presented by the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute, in recognition of its outstanding example and commitment to promoting adoption.
September 22, 2010
Generations of Hope Development Corporation was a finalist in the Community Matters and Ashoka’s Changemaker’s Competition, Strong Communities: Engaging Citizens, Strengthening Place, Inspiring Change. GHDC’s entry, The Transformative Power of Intergenerational Community Living, was one of eight finalists.

In December 2009, Generations of Hope founder Brenda Krause Eheart was honored with an
AARP Inspire Award, which salutes “outstanding individuals who are using their energy, creativity, and passion to make the world a better place.”
October 1, 2009

In October 2009, Generations of Hope’s founder Brenda Krause Eheart was named a
Purpose Prize fellow by Civic Ventures.
August 1, 2009

Generations of Hope received an
Adoption Excellence Award from the US Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, in August 2009, for “changing the way social services are provided to children and families by using community as an intervention.” Generations of Hope was recognized “for the extraordinary contributions it has made in providing adoption and other permanency outcomes for children in foster care.”
December 1, 2008

In December 2008, Generations of Hope’s founder Brenda Krause Eheart was named an
Ashoka Fellow and inducted into a worldwide fellowship of social entrepreneurs by
Ashoka: Innovators for the Public.
October 21, 2008

On October 21, 2008 the
Heinz Award in the Human Condition was awarded to Brenda Krause Eheart, the founder of Generations of Hope, for “finding a solution to the nation’s confounding issue of foster care adoption.
